each year’s batches of roots flock will be limited to the wool clip we get from the farms and are likely to vary slightly year to year. please purchase however much you need for your project.

this listing is for roots flock fingering, the undyed sheepshade farm-specific version of our popular roots fingering yarn! this yarn is woolen spun with a lot of gorgeous loft. it has beautiful stitch definition whether you’re knitting cables, lace, or plain stockinette. it also works well as a loom weft. use it easily for fingering weight or sport weight projects, and always remember to swatch.

we work with two farms in alberta - tin forest farm who produce the tunis, and the same finn sheep we get our pasture dk from (the sheep spend summers in fort saskatchewan and then winter in wildwood) - and combine the wools for different colours of gorgeous undyed naturally coloured wool. they are then spun by the same mill who produce our roots fingering, pasture dk, and canadian worsted yarns. it’s the perfect companion to our regular roots fingering yarn and a fabulous combo for any colourwork projects you have in mind!
